Behind these limelights, Canada’s up-and-coming artists ignite the stage with lively performances that explore a vast range of genres.

June 6th-9th, 2024
In a place and time where gender expression is oppressed by the state—and being gay is a death sentence—following your heart can mean risking everything. It is here that Solana finds her lost love Lilah, who is now a wife and mother.
June 7th – 8th, 2024
Hannah is a transgender woman; Hannah Before and Hannah After. During the scenes, Hannah discovers her gender identity and learns to love herself in a world where she is not accepted. The opera is composed of two parts. Each part represents essential moments of Hannah’s coming of age through a series of episodes.
June 13th – 20th, 2024
Bribery, deception and disguise: The Barber of Seville tells the story of two young lovers and their quest to be together. Figaro needs all his wiles to help the Count outwit Dr Bartolo and ensure true love wins the day.
June 14th – 21st, 2024
Set in 1900 Sweden, A Little Night Music explores the tangled web of affairs centered around actress, Desirée Armfeldt, and the men who love her: a lawyer by the name of Fredrik Egerman and the Count Carl-Magnus Malcom.
June 22nd – 23rd, 2024
April 10, 1912; The RMS Titanic sets out from London on her maiden voyage, across the Atlantic

Celebrating 25 Years

Silence

Nothing you do matters, the world keeps getting worse…or does it? Silence irreverently rejects this defeatist attitude. Instead, offering us one of agency and hope. This searing satire grapples with today’s issues from gender, to patriarchy, social roles, and religion. Written over 20 years ago, this play has only grown in relevance. Celebrate our 25th year by helping to fund this newly commissioned operatic version of Silence.
